Pegasus character - Chenoa

I did some fan art of someone I was watching on DeviantArt: Alkahla's Chenoa

This is still in progress and it's actually going to be more wide than tall, showing some small trees in the distance on the side and a big open sky. This view was just what fit in the scanner.

The first is the sketch I did and the second is a digital color rough to get an idea of what I was going to do. I'm not sure what medium I want to work in for this. Any suggestions?
I was thinking watercolor at first, now I'm wondering if maybe I should go acrylics. Hmm...
Well, so far I'm pretty proud of this.

That's cool, I like it. It is also cool that you can do that on a computer!

I suppose you aren't going for plausibility - but a brown horse wouldn't have green wings.

I think this would be better as acrylic.
